How Qara Inc handles information in the Qara Short-Haul application.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Overview

Qara Short-Haul is designed to help participating drivers and carriers create daily work records. This policy describes the categories of information the application may process, why it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information we process

  • Account and profile information, such as name, work email, carrier, truck number, and reporting location.
  • Workday information, including clock-in and clock-out times, breaks, driving-time estimates, mileage estimates, daily certifications, and signatures.
  • Location information during an active shift, including GPS points, distance traveled, and distance from the reporting yard.
  • Technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the application.

How information is used

Information is used to provide shift tracking, calculate time and mileage estimates, create daily records, synchronize authorized company records, support users, maintain security, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.

Location data

Location access is used for active-shift features such as yard checks, distance calculations, route mileage estimates, and daily record creation. Depending on device permissions, location tracking may continue in the background while a shift is active. Users can manage location permissions in device settings, but disabling them may prevent tracking features from working.

Sharing and retention

Driver records may be available to the carrier or organization administering the driver’s account. Information may also be processed by service providers used for hosting, authentication, storage, security, and application operations. Records are retained according to the carrier’s operational and legal requirements and may be deleted when no longer needed, subject to applicable obligations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your choices

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their information, subject to carrier recordkeeping responsibilities and applicable law. Users may also change device permissions through their phone settings.

Children

Qara Short-Haul is a workforce application and is not directed to children under 13.
